How long does a body lift surgery last?
A typical body lift procedure that includes Breast surgery, Tummy tuck and Liposuction can take between 4 - 6 hours.
The surgery is conducted under general anesthesia.
If the procedure is done in conjunction with other procedures to gain optimum results including Arm lift / Thigh lift / Back lift; the procedure may take from 6 – 7 hours to complete and does require 1 or 2 overnights stay at hospital.
Is body lift surgery painful?
Discomfort, bruising and swelling are common after body lift surgery. Many body lift patients experience soreness after their surgery is performed, but recovery is unique to each patient and postoperative pain is quiet variable.
Pain and discomfort is most pronounced in the first 3 days or so after the surgery, becoming less of an issue as the healing process runs its course. You will be prescribed pain medication while you recover to ensure that you are completely comfortable.
To prevent swelling and aid recovery a compression garment is also prescribed.
How long do body lift and body sculpting results last?
The contouring achieved by removal of excess skin and fat from Body Lift surgery is permanent. However, 10 to 15 years after your surgery, as you continue to age, you will see some relaxation of the skin and connective tissues will loosen and sag gradually.
