SMAS FACELIFT SURGERY IN MEXICO... MORE INFO
What is the FaceLift procedure?
Today there are several types of facelifts that improve the misfortunes caused by aging of the face and neck, or localized manner, or more extensively.
- The SMAS Facelift / Cervicofacial Lift also called Neck Lift is most commonly performed. This is the surgical correction of aging in the neck and at the face from the forehead to the region jowls region. The appearance of the eye is not corrected with a simple cervicofacial lift.
- The Brow Lift / Temporal Lift improves the stigma of aging in the region temples. The temporal lift is often associated with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).
This procedure corrects drooping brows part of deshirr the crow's feet and to slightly tension the skin of the outer part of the eyelids.
After a temporal lift the eyes again look bright and alert, which gives the whole face a fresh and well rested appearance. The procedure lightens hooding of the outer eyelid, reduces deep lines and the look of heaviness around the eyes and restores a firm outer-eye area. The result is entirely natural and patients have found that if people do comment afterwards, they are most likely to say how well and relaxed they look, or ask if they have been away on a holiday.
When a Brow Lift is combined with a Neck Lift, these two together can complete the rejuvenation package - Complete FaceLift -
These interventions are well suited to women than men. The average age for a facelift is 45-50 years age when the signs of aging are becoming more visible.
Sometimes, it isn't age that determines the need for a Neck Lift, but rather having lost considerable weight or it may even be hereditary feature you'd like to remedy. In fact, many younger people undergo a Neck lift. Many men and women who have undergone Neck lift are often thought to have "lost a lot of weight" or "toned up" rather than having had surgery.
Before the FaceLift
The motivations and requests of the patient will be analysed during the preoperative consultation with the surgeon.
No medication containing aspirin should be taken within 20 days before surgery.
Stopping smoking is obligatory before surgery.
Anaesthesia for FaceLift
The Cervicofacial Lift / Neck Lift and Lateral Brow Lift / Temporal Lift can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia accompanied by sedation.
How long does FaceLift take?
The procedure can last about 2 hours to 4 hours depending on the importance of corrections and possible surgeries that are involved.
How visible will FaceLift scars be?
- SMAS Facelift / Neck Lift / Cervicofacial Lift: They will be located behind the ears and hidden by the hair.
- Temporal Lift / Lateral Brow Lift: The temporal brow lift is a procedure in which smaller incisions are made in the temple region of the forehead and scalp. Most of the incision is hidden in the scalp with a small portion placed on the side of the forehead. This approach has the advantage of being a smaller procedure requiring less dissection.

What is the recovery time healing process for a FaceLift?
The SMAS Facelift / Neck Lift / Cervicofacial Lift hospitalization for 24 to 48 hours is required for this type of intervention.
The Temporal Lift / Lateral Brow Lift can be done as an outpatient, that is to say with an exit on the same day after several hours of surveillance.
The first few days, you have to rest up and avoid any strenuous exercise. During the first days, the patient will not be surprised not to worry :
• A small cutaneous ring to the upper portion of the temporal scar
• Edema which may be more pronounced on the third day as the first
• Bruising
• The feeling of a painful tension at the temples
If the scars are located on the scalp, they will not be visible. The son or staples placed at the level of the leather may be withdrawn from the 7th day after surgery.
In case the scars are at pre capillary level , they will be visible but will begin to fade in the first week and disappear from the 3rd month with hair regrowth.
They can be hidden with makeup the first months.
Generally, here are the different postoperative stages:
• The seventh day presentable for intimate
• Towards the twelfth day presentable for his friends
• But to appear before the people whose they are to ignore the operation, it is necessary to provide three weeks.
How long after a FaceLift do you start seeing results?
After two to three months, we can get a good idea of the final result. Physical improvement is accompanied usually psychological wellness.
PROCEDURES WE DON'T BE ABLE TO PERFORM AT OUR FACILITY
Treatments NOT “Approved" by our medical team.
The procedures below do not meet our standards of safety, effectiveness, and/or holistic attributes.
That this list is based solely on the opinions of our surgeons and may not necessarily reflect the opinions of all doctors or the standard of care in your area. Therefore, before undergoing any invasive cosmetic treatment, it is highly recommended that you consult with a certified and experienced board-certified plastic surgeon.
ANTERIOR HAIRLINE BROWLIFT / CORONAL HAIRLINE BROWLIFT (procedure NOT "approved" by our plastic surgeons)
A coronal or hairline brow lift is a surgical procedure that aims to restore a more youthful appearance by removing excess or sagging skin in the upper third of the face. The incision for this procedure is typically made just behind the hairline, from ear to ear. The term "coronal" is used to describe the location of the incision.
You won't find this procedure at our facility because we have never seen a scar from this procedure that we found aesthetically pleasing. The anterior hairline brow lift is an open brow lift, as opposed to an endoscopic brow lift, and typically involves creating a lengthy scar along the front of the hairline. While this procedure can be effective in shortening the forehead and making the hairline appear less receded, the reality is that the resulting scars can be quite visible and make the hairline look unnatural.
At our facility we do perform Endoscopic Brow Lift / Temporal Lift / Lateral Brow Lift.

THREADLIFTS (procedure NOT "approved" by our plastic surgeons)
It appears that plastic surgeons repeat the same errors every generation.
In 2004, there was a sudden surge of threadlift procedures performed by plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and even general practitioners.
These "minimally invasive facelifts" used barbed sutures to lift the skin. Many doctors claimed that these threads could create non-surgical facelifts.
After a year or two, it became evident that threadlifts had two major issues. Firstly, the results only lasted up to 6 - 9 months, at most. Secondly, the threads were often made of permanent sutures, so patients had to deal with protruding threads long after the results had faded.
As a result, the trend of threadlifts died down, and only a few doctors continued to offer them.
Recently, however, threadlifts have experienced a resurgence, particularly among a younger generation of plastic surgeons. One significant difference is that they now use absorbable threads, solving the issue of complications from permanent threads.
However, the question remains whether the modern threadlifts have longer-lasting results than their predecessors. While time will tell, some plastic surgeons remain skeptical, including our plastic surgeons.
They still question whether barbed sutures can deliver the long-term results that patients desire.
