MOMMY MAKEOVER IN MEXICO - Patient's Review | TopPlasticSurgeonsMexico

Updated: Oct 18, 2021

My Mommy Makeover in Mexico City

My name is Harper, I am 45, mother of four children.

On July 2020, with the encouragement of my daughters, I decided to go to Mexico City and explore my mommy makeover options with TopPlasticSurgeonsMexico.

As a mother of four children, after my pregnancies the skin on my belly was disgusting and my breasts were sagging. The way my body looked was so depressing and although my husband would tell me “you look OK” to cover my stomach, I used to wear big clothes,, so last year I have decided it was time to do something just for myself, and my gift would be a Mommy Makeover surgery. I’ve been thinking about this procedure for more than 20 years since my first baby.. but now, 20 year later, and after the encouragement of my family and friends I finally decided to do it!

I was recommended to check out TopPlasticSurgeonsMexico in Mexico City from friends that had themselves had previous procedures there, none of them had a mommy makeover but most had either had a breast augmentation, liposuction or tummy tuck.

I also did additional research at home to try to feed my curiosity about the company and patients results. I watched YouTube videos and read online reviews regarding mommy makeover in Mexico; but I realize that nothing can really prepare you for an overseas plastic surgery and I’m just hoping that my story can give you a different perspective.

"I was scared that my surgeon Dr. Bernardo wouldn’t be the type of doctor for me"

Getting my Mommy Makeover in Mexico City!

My first step has been to contact topplasticsurgeonsmexico by email. From the moment I sent my online paperwork to the day I went into my surgeon’s office in Mexico City, I have to say I was beyond nervous. I was scared that my surgeon Dr. Bernardo wouldn’t be the type of doctor for me, or that he would tell me that there was nothing he could do,.. it sounds crazy, but this was all new for me.

During my reservation process, my oldest daughter decided to travel with me for moral support and I’m so glad she did it because it’s nice having family support and someone to help you after the surgery.

I remember my first day in Mexico, when I met Dr. Bernardo for first time; he came in to the consultation room to introduce himself and get the consultation started! We just started with a simple conversation about what were my biggest concerns and more about me current and previous medical history. I was impressed because after examining my stomach and taking measurements of my breasts he hit me with a ton of education and I have to admit that of my millions of questions I had written down but he covered every single one before I even had a chance to ask him.

After he explained in detail the procedure, I tried on implants! I wanted natural looking breast results so we settled on trying round silicone breast implants.

When I placed the implant in my sports bra I can’t describe the feeling I had when I examined myself in the mirror; just pure anticipation and joy!

After the consultation I was really nervous; it’s hard to believe that I had my consultation the day I arrive and my procedure performed the next day morning!

The day of surgery my daughter came with me to the clinic where my procedure was to take place. Pretty sure I didn’t sleep the night before due to nerves but once I got dressed, hooked up to the machines and had the nurses explain just about every detail of the process, I was more excited than anything else.

My surgeon came in and made a few drawings - -similar to the ones he demonstrated during my first consultation- as guides for the surgery, and I said goodbye to my daughter and when I awoke, it felt as if I had taken a quick cat nap.

I think if you follow your pre-op tips and suggestions and stick to your post-op rules diligently, recovery is a breeze!

I stayed 2 nights at clinic, but my total journey in Mexico was about 2 weeks. I took this time off and it was enough. I think if you follow your pre-op tips and suggestions and stick to your post-op rules diligently, recovery is a breeze!

I would say that the most difficult part of my journey was the first night at clinic, with the anesthesia still working its way out of my system.

The next days -for about 1 week- were more about getting used to the feeling of heavier breasts and a tighter stomach something like one day after an intense ab gym workout. Moving around was obviously at a snail’s pace but the recommended breathing exercises helped to really help me maneuver around.

One week post op I had my drains removed, which is the highlight of recovery for just about anyone. The surgical drains, help to prevent fluid build-up after surgery and are necessary but it is a pain to deal with!

15 days after surgery I had minimal pain and swelling left but my biggest concern was maintaining my mommy makeover results and when i was back home I was determined to follow each and every instruction given to me.

Now, everything is over and I'm proud. This was my first surgery ever and it was a fantastic experience. Usually I think it’s cliché for businesses to claim to be a family, but for the Topplasticsurgeonsmexico team that is exactly what it felt like. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Bernardo and TopPlasticSurgeonsMexico’s team for giving me my confidence back.

I feel so much more attractive, I'm wearing bikinis and I can proudly say I finally have my body back and it’s even better than before! All the men are looking at me :-)

Now my husband looks at me and says, “You look beautiful!"

If I could give readers my master advice, Don’t think you’re too old for plastic surgery – you’re not and you’ll only kick yourself for not having done it sooner!
